At the heart of Confession, artist Yorgos Kypris’ large-scale installations dominate both the indoor galleries and the enchanting gardens outside.Thirty-four years after opening his gallery MATI in Fira, Santorini, Kypris perseveres in his devotion to the island by establishing an art space in the traditional village of Mesaria. MATI Mesaria is inaugurated by the celebration of his life’s work, showcasing a selection of works that span decades. These dispersed fragments of time meet and converse, creating novel connections and revealing a new context. Kypris offers a profound meditation of the human condition, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in themes such as the beauty of life, his personal fears and his preoccupations about the human race. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience a world where the boundaries between reality and memory blur effortlessly.
